And someday we'll all be old, and I'll be so damn beautiful.

Here are a few pics of me...

I know, I'm not the prettiest rose in the bouquet,

but I'm not that ugly am I?

Am I?????

I'm paranoid, that's what I am.
Okay....anyways....

Candle Light - chapter 1

Okay, so I'ma just start by posting the book I've been writing lately first. It's about vamps. Even though my mom hates it. She's just jealous. o.O
Alrighty then, enough idle chit-chat.

I trudged to school through the blistering heat once again. Why is it so hot? I wondered fiercely to myself, It’s only six thirty in the morning! I gazed into the clear blue sky with what I’m sure was a pleading expression. Of course it’s hot! It’s California, you live next to death valley! Or rather, we...
"Eh?" I asked in bewilderment to the general direction the source of the noise. I had been doing that to myself lately, answering my own questions in my head, responding aloud. It was quite confusing. I growled to my self. "I know, but why did we have to move here?" I sounded like a whining toddler, I had been asking that question since the first day. "I was actually starting to like Colorado."
Because, you know, that happens so often. Why is it that you are never satisfied? I swear! "I know!" I sounded like I had just had a revelation. I sounded stupid and dim-witted, even to my self. I had a split personality, but I didn’t let the intelligent one show too often, if only for the fact that people peered at me quizzically and their expression usually was followed by, ‘what does that mean?!" I get tired of taking five minutes to explain words people should know with more words they just don’t understand.
"Wild goose chase! Curses!" I froze in mid-step, clapping my hand to my mouth and gazing around suspiciously to see if anyone had heard me thinking out loud. Then proceeded my irksome journey through the streets of Ridgecrest. Faint laughter echoed in my ears.
‘Curses!’ my other identity mocked me sarcastically. You know, sometimes just sitting here, hovering in the front of your mind, just listening to you make a fool of yourself is quite enjoyable.
I shook my head and took the final step to the campus. Seconds later, it was swarming with students that were talking about unimportant subjects and dwindling their time in high school to nothing. I was being paranoid, they probably weren’t even paying any attention to me anyways, but being self-conscious in my mini skirt and white, sleeveless hollister shirt, I snaked around the various circles of friends to stand inside the group my friends were gradually forming. Almost all of their eyebrows rose in response to my arrival.
I looked up and simultaneously brushed a loose strand of icy blonde hair that had escaped from behind my ear. Seeing their expressions, My brow furrowed while I asked innocently, "What?"
Shayla, my closest friend in the group - and the only one in the group who wasn’t scrutinizing my appearance condescendingly (other than the boys, but that’s to be expected)- turned her head in response and, seeing the troubled expression on my face, my ivory skin distorted to show my bewilderment, she burst out laughing.
"Silly Capri!" she giggled, "You must be a popsicle!" I had to smile at her enthusiasm and how she burst into hysterics on sight.
"Actually, no, I’m not cold, in fact, I’m extremely hot! I just want to hop into a pool..." I sighed for dramatic effect. Silence answered my brief speech. I glanced at their apparel. Most of them wore long pants and had heavy coats on. I laughed. " You must be so hot. Why are you all wearing coats?" For once, my alternate personality was silent.
"Silly Capri, it’s only January. It’s cold." When Shayla broke the silence, her voice was soft and subsided into barely a whisper at the end of her statement. All was silent. Ice seemed to crack violently when we tried to say something.
Unintelligible conversation hummed around us. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the bell screeched and while we all heard groans around us, all we could do was let out the breath we all held poised in relief. Shayla slowly made her way over to me. She reached out a gloved hand and stroked my bare arm.
"You’re really hot? Are you sure?" She seemed to smile all the time, even when she was worried.
"You know, I think I would know if I was hot or..." My voice drifted, I meant to be sarcastic, but then I realized, I didn’t feel hot, or cold...I didn’t feel anything. Shayla’s face finally fell, her smile vanishing for an instant.
"Capri?" Her voice was distant and alarmed. I had frozen, the hall was empty now, no witnesses, it was growing longer, and thinner, it seemed that it was crushing me as its sides compressed.
My head felt a faint throbbing, a sudden wave of icy cold washed over me and the last thing I saw before I collapsed was Shayla’s face contorted into shock and horror.

Shayla rushed over to Capri’s backpack to find her cell phone. She flipped it open and her hands were shaking violently while she tried to find her friend’s home phone. She tried to breath evenly while she waited anxiously for one of her parents to pick up the phone.
"Hello?" the fluid voice of Capri’s father oozed beautifully out of the receiving part of the phone. It made Shayla lose her train of thought for a moment. She stalled for a moment. "Hello?" He repeated.
"Uh, um, Mr. - Mr. Smith?" She stuttered weakly. She was starting to feel faint. "It’s...Capri."
"Yes?" His voice was worried.
"She was acting weird today, saying how hot it was, she wasn’t even wearing a coat!" she sobbed quietly.
"I understand, I’ll be right there," He interrupted curtly.
"But-" she started, she hadn’t even told him the problem. She waited next to Capri, and reached out to touch her face, but an electric current passed through the inch of empty air between their skin, Shayla blinked repeatedly and snatched her hand away after that. After what seemed like five seconds, Capri’s father was jogging toward her, his sun bleached hair blown back from running.
"You can go to class now if you’d like." He mentioned softly, beautifully, the words coming out fast, his lips moving in a blur. " I can excuse you."
At first Shayla was staggered but she nodded slowly in agreement. "Um, okay." She stood up clumsily and walked toward the office. Mr. Smith was walking, or more like waltzing, gracefully next to her.
When they walked in, Shayla opened her mouth to say something, but he cut her off. "She needs to be excused." He flashed a wide, white smile.
"Oh, alright." The woman sitting on the other side of the counter wrote out a tardy slip for her without hesitation. "Did something happen?"
"My daughter, her best friend, fainted." The woman inhaled sharply and opened her mouth to say something. "Can you excuse my daughter from school?" he paused, for a slight moment, then added lightly, "Please?"
"Of course...but, where is she?"
"In the car, I could hardly leave her laying on the ground in the middle of the hall!" He laughed gently and Shayla lifted one eyebrow in confusion.
"Right..." she huffed out a nervous laugh and breathed a few unintelligible comments to herself.

I awoke enveloped in ice.
Figuratively of course. Like my parents would put me in an icebox. I blinked my eyes twice and wondered where I was. I heard voices. Which was strange...No one was in the room. I was lying, still in my skirt and cami, on my bed. I scratched my head in groggy confusion. I scooted to the edge of the bed and stretched my toes out, searching for the floor. Hopping off with a newfound grace, I skipped over to my closet and pulled out a light blue hooded sweater and some soft, gray sweat pants, hugged them to my face, and hopped over to my bed. I yanked the sweater over my head, and wriggled into the sweat pants. I pulled the hair tie out of my hair, and shook my head lightly, puffing out my hair. I danced to the bathroom to steal a quick glance on the mirror. My shockingly white skin alarmed me. I slowly side-stepped into the bathroom to get a better look at my confusing complexion. I touched my cheek lightly with one long, slender finger, stroking the smooth skin, my eyebrow arching in confusing. Also, my huge deep, sea-blue eyes and perfect lips and angular nose were in their place, different somehow. Pretty. Perfect and beautiful, I couldn’t believe it.
I strode down the stairs, slowly now, my fingers barely touching my right cheek, my mouth opened slightly in shock. Then I heard my name. I turned my head in response, and dropped my hand, my father was sitting in his chair, his head tilted back, and my mother was leaning against the wall across the room. I heard some other words, but they were lost when I heard many of them all at once. A faint tune was being carried on the breeze.
"Hmm?" I asked softly. Father snapped his head up abruptly, and Mother’s eyes flicked over to me momentarily. "You say something?"
Both of their heads shook slowly, silently, but I could still voices. They were confused now. But both of their mouths were closed. I arched my eyebrows, confused. They both stared inadvertently in surprise. Silent. Waiting.
"Father?" I stammered. "What happened to me?"
"You..." He breathed slowly, carefully. But he couldn’t continue, his eyes were pained, like something he was wishing he had never done had affected me, somehow; something that happened to me today. He hung his head in his hands, shuddering, noise came from him. Mother was by my side in less than a second, hugging me tightly.
"It wasn’t supposed to happen to you..." she whispered softly to me. A sob hidden in her voice, one she refused to let surface.
"Father!" I pleaded. And I went to sit on the couch next to his chair, my hand slowly, softly moving to rest on his knee.
"You’ve finally turned..." he whispered, almost inaudible. "You finally changed."
"What?" I asked, confused. "Turned? Changed?" I paused, suddenly frightened. "Into what?"
He looked up at me, his hands, hands that were as white as mine, shaking. "A vampire."
